The Sick Day Routine

Guest post by Dana Dobbie

In the season of coughs, colds and sniffles, it’s important that you take time out to rest up and get well. If you’re too unwell to be useful at work, it’s best you stay home. Similarly, if you’re child isn’t feeling too well, it’s important that you give them the chance to get better too and not send them to day care or school.

If you’re not feeling well and choose to stay home, take the opportunity to focus on getting better – not do the housework!

Here are some of the things you may want to consider factoring into your ‘Sick Day Routine’.

  • Take a hot shower
  • Sleep
  • Eat healthy stuff – chicken soup with lots of vegies
  • Drink plenty of water
  • See a doctor if you or your child need to

It’s really important for you, your family, your colleagues or your children’s peers that you take the necessary steps to get well and healthy so that you aren’t spreading germs around the home, office and school.
